WTF are you talking about? I have no complaints about the Analog Rytm price, never have. You complained that I had said good things about the TR-8, and I did, and one of the good things about it is its low price, which means many people will be able to afford it. That has nothing at all to do with Elektron’s pricing policy. The machines are different, the companies are different, the target markets are different.
I can’t for the life of me understand how Elektron users even think about using low-quality shit like Roland’s latest offering. You’re right when you say it’s great entry level stuff, but one would assume when you step in the the Elektron world, you’re ready to move forward-not backward.
Guess what, sometimes I make bass sounds in my Octatrack, sometimes in the Analog Four, sometimes I pick up my cheap Epiphone bass and pluck the strings and record it. Apparently you do have a problem with someone liking more than one drum machine, since you can only conceive of things in terms of better and worse, and since the Roland TR-8 is not as powerful as the AR you feel the need to call it ‘low-quality shit.’
Well, that’s your problem. Sometimes I like to make sound using high priced gear, other times I make drum loops by recording things in my kitchen OMG I MADE A PERCUSSION LOOP USING AN $8 WOODEN BOWL AND A SALAD FORK I"M SO ASHAMED THAT MY MUSIC WILL SOUND CHEAP AND PRIMITIVE
Considering the setup its amazing how mediocre and basic the music they choose to make is. Oh well, best tow the line and gather a big crowd of “music lover” fans rather than do anything new I guess.
Sow, the Analog Rytm will be ideal to combine with my A4.
This will be so much fun!!! BUT:
Will it be possible to use the scenes from the AR to reset or control the Performance parameters of the A4? The AR will have some sort of midi CC out is guess. This would be great!

The best (edit - live) dance music IMO is basic, as simple as it can be, direct and to the point. I don’t personally play many of there records but that’s exactly what this is… Its a bit over the top at times for sure but its 100% aimed at the dance floor rather than the dining room. Wonder if by mediocre you mean you just don’t like it… Which would be a more intelligent comment.
Boiler room on the other hand is not representative of the actual scene IMO… Just a crowd of wannabe hipsters.

This is one of the best live performances of Techno to date. Sorry that you don’t enjoy or understand the genre, nice that you still have an opinion on it though.
Let’s hear your “elevated” work, big boy.
If you wanna talk smack on these forums, you need to back it up with music. Or, as you say so eloquently, “If you wanna play, you gotta pay”.
Otherwise, you’re just like dither : a very faint noise in the background.

Dude, why don’t you head back to your bedroom and make some more tutorial videos? You seem to be good at that. And it’s definitely a good idea to keep your music secret. I believe I heard one of your videos with a Sade song? Hope you don’t plan on trying to clear the sample cause it ain’t gonna happen. You actually have to do something creative with a song sample and make a good song before trying to clear the sample. You lose on both. I do remember you doing a fantastic Rick Astley dance though. Nuff said right there.

So you’re not gonna post any music then…?

Been on the net for years - moderated yamaha gear forums years ago (been there, done that, got the t-shirt).
It’s a fair call.
If you’re going to make these claims at least back it up with something please (it isn’t that much to ask for).
Whilst I’ll concur that Elektron kit has helped elevate a lot of my newer work, talking smack about other forum members in this manner doesn’t endear you to anyone (not that life is a popularity contest).
Everyone has their own unique creative path and journey to take and it isn’t mine, yours or anyone else’s place to belittle people for making the decisions they do or taking the creative paths that they take.
I make the tutorials in my studio, actually, not my bedroom !
And I’d like to thank you for dedicating some time to watch my videos, it’s very much appreciated, every view counts, it helps fatten up my Ad Sense cheques
I have no interest in clearing samples, that jam is just that, a jam, and it will stay like that. The stuff I release is 100 % sample free
This is the last time I address you, directly or indirectly, as it is very difficult to take an internet tough guy seriously, especially when they can’t provide a single piece of music to back up their claims. I also respect these forums, and the users, too much to see it become a place of random slandering.
I am still baffled at the fact that you’re allowed to post in here, but as I’ve said, it’s nothing more than faint noise, so it’s easy enough to ignore.
Cheers !
BTW your OT tip Videos are pretty sweet.
I’d never made the connection before between yourself and the Youtube Tutorials - the ones on LFO modulations and uses in the OT where particularly good. I even made a point of putting a few of my friends on to those who where new with the Octatrack.
Thanks for posting that, the info from the video that was most exciting was the prospect of future drum models and sound improvements via OS updates. He talks about how they just added a FM kick drum, and in a recent Musikmesse video he shows off the Ring Mod kick. I can’t wait to see what future updates include. I really hope for the Rytm to be able to generate a variety of giant kick drums and new ultra modern percussion sounds.
See what you’re doing to people Elektron? Everyone is fighting. Just release the freaking RYTM Already? Sold my lousy tempest and I need something to bang on please.
