I’d never made the connection before between yourself and the Youtube Tutorials - the ones on LFO modulations and uses in the OT where particularly good. I even made a point of putting a few of my friends on to those who where new with the Octatrack.

I think it’s amusing that you think I don’t like enjoy or understand techno. If you knew anything about me you wouldn’t say that. But yes this session I found bland and boring. Another case of great gear doesn’t mean great music.

These guys have streamlined their setup a lot from this, they’ve done interviews stating they were making all kinds of rookie mistakes like having too many drum machines going at once, etc.

I guess I just like my techno noiser… and basic.

Yes you can. From what I read you turn down the drum voice to 0. Now you will have your own drum hit and then you can adjust parameters without an analog drum voice.

it seems not even possible to do it… link is bum.

I’ve scanned the specs, and briefly here, but does anyone know if it possible to record in beats from the pads free from quantise?

J dilla trick was to quantise the first kick only, then play everything else unquantised around to keep things tight enough and then have a human feel to it.

Yes, but you only get one hit per trig. So, it you want quick repeated hit by hand you have run the machine at double, triple, or quad tempo.
