Hi.
In one pattern, let us say you have 16 steps and analog kick on step 1, 5, 9 and 13. At the same track, can I layer a sample on trig 1 and set this sample trig with a different note length than the kick? I want the sample trig to be 16 step long (long sample sound - drone).

Ordinarily this won’t work as the next trigger on a track will steal the voice engine … however, (and i doubt this will work, never needed to try) but the sample engine and synth engine can individually be trigged per step … this too shouldn’t work, but given that the AR has an ‘analogue type’ envelope (i.e. it doesn’t reset to zero - just maybe, you could trig a looping sample on 1 and have it sustain un-interrupted if the envelope stays high - my hunch says no - the next trigs will claim the voice

Ok. So you can only layer an analog sound with a sample as long as the sample length do not hit the next analog sequencer step?

No  Its not the next step. It is the next Trigger. So if you have a Trigger on 1, 5, 9 and 13, you can play the sample on 1 for 4 steps and the 5th step (as it uses up the voice and retriggers the envelope etc) will stop the sample.

Ok. Thanks. Do you know any video examples where they use sample with analog sound?

I don’t know any, where you can see anything. I personally (when I owned a Rytm) was using them combined all the time (mostly on kicks, often on hats), but never wanted the 2 engines play different lengths.
