Analog Rytm Mk2: Preview Kits Before Actually Loading?

Hello fellow elektronauts! This is officially my first post. I’m kind of a n00b to Elektron gear, but loving it regardless.

I am trying to understand something about the Analog Rytm mk2 workflow. While playing a sequence, can I browse/preview kits as the sequence is playing? I’d like to play my sequence and also preview drum kits to hear them before I actually load them. Is that a thing?

The Rytm (both versions) really really miss this, in fact the ‘workflow’ associated with kit loading is one of the most frustrating aspects of using it on the fly - the A4 has a sorta workaround allowing sound loading into a sequenced kit, but you do need to load, there’s no preview to do that

loading a kit is more permanent, there’s no preview, nor a way to make it easier (on A4 a key combo holds sound selection list open) , it’s a bit clunky on AR when you want to do this for Kits but sounds can be loaded into kits a bit more seamlessly

Basically Kit selecting/loading should imho be quicker

loading drum kits is pretty much instantaneous as the samples are loaded into RAM already. No need to preview.

Yeah, completely agreed. It takes multiple button presses if I decide I don’t like the kit I just loaded and want to load up a different kit. Rinse, repeat… To your point, seems like a huge workflow miss

Aye… there are two speedier ways to both reload and especially save a kit (two direct methods) - loading a kit is not anything like as effortless

I suggested Fn + Kit(hold) just as you currently do to quick launch the sound selection with Fn + Sound(hold)
