Morning all… Has anyone had any success doing this? I have a chance to get a Push 3 and the purchase hinges on if the rytm plays nice with the Push in this way. I want to play live with both devices and use the Push as a mixer and processor of individual rytm tracks over USB, as well as all the other goodies the Push provides.

I’ve done something similar with my Rytm and A4 in the past, but since I’ve got the Tonverk I tend to just run into my Push 3 in stereo for convenience.
It’s a great combo though, especially as you can send PC commands per clip from the Push 3.

Pretty sure the class compliant USB audio from AR is only stereo. To get multichannel outs you have to use OB.

With the MPC standalone, when you plug in an audio interface you can no longer use the native inputs and outputs. I would make a point to confirm whether push 3 can use it’s own i/o at the same time as a class compliant audio device, otherwise all I/O will have to go through the RYTM’s physical inputs.
I’m also pretty certain that without OB you’ll get everything summed to the stereo out over USB class compliant audio.

You can choose main out or any pair of channels. Choke groups count as one channel so you could do like kick and snare, or kick, closed hat, open hat, etc.

That’s more flexible, but still not ideal if the idea is to process single tracks.

If push’s built in inputs still work when using a usb interface you could do 2 tracks over usb and 2 tracks from the individual audio outs (assuming ARMK2). You can also choose which tracks go to the mains so you could do like 3 individual tracks and track 4 is everything else. Or 2 individual tracks and a stereo mix of everything else. Still not as good as having all tracks independently but could provide some fun possibilities.

Oh my oh my…RTFM. So sorry to bug y’all. All I needed to do, besides read the manual, was change USB connection to Audio/MIDI to see that only a stereo pair is available when connected to my computer and ableton. Carry on…
Quick suggestion… you can get individual channel outputs from Rytm into Push 3 if you add an ADAT In box to the setup. I use the little half-rack Arturia ADAT box to add 8 x channels to Push and it works great. Not expensive, plug, play and forget.
I’ve been thinking of adding a Rytm to my setup and would use ADAT to achieve individual outputs into Push for processing. I already do this with other hardware synths and it’s excellent.
