Analog Rytm/4 mk1 midi out to ipad

Hello. Sorry in advance for this basic question but it’s driving me mad.

I have analog Rytm and 4 mk1 and would like to connect them to my iPad to use the amazing apps I have. I need iPad to sync to midi clock of elektrons. I’ve tried usb cable from elektron units in to Apple cck the iPad but it doesn’t work. Please someone tell me what I need to do. I have elektrons set to send midi via usb but it doesn’t work. Thanks

this should work. I do it the same way. please be more specific: what does not work… do you see the ar as midi input on the ipad?

common problems:
elektron units have to be in usb only mode, not overbridge mode ( found under system/usb settings)

there was a bug in an older firmware which messed up midi clock/sync via usb…

in midi settings you should activate clock send and send via usb midi (which you have already done, partly)

Thanks very much for info. When I plug AR to iPad a message comes up on iPad screen. It says Elektron Analog Rytm not compatible or something along those lines. I’ll check later today and see exactly what message on screen is and I’ll chaeck Rytm settings again as you suggested. Ta

it does work. you can ignore the message

Thanks for help. It works with AR after following steps above but not working with A4. Thanks for the help. I’ve tried all sorts to get this working previously.

The A4 can’t sequence via MIDI, only CV. So if you’re trying to sequence your iPad with it it won’t work

Thanks, I’m just looking to sync midi clock but I think I’ll have to update firmware on A4 as it works fine with AR
