just noticed the AK has secondary functions on the cursor keys labeled µtiming +/- (see http://createdigitalmusic.com/files/2013/11/analogkeys1.jpg )…so I guess we’ll get microtiming instead/in addiction to current step shifting with the update. there’s also a secondary function for poly on the AK. nice

the AF has that feature too, hold a trig & press left right cursor keys… it’s been in there since OS 1.02 or something. Just no silkscreening for it.
In general, I think a lot of people don’t know about functionality which got added/mofified with OS updates, as the manual reflects the 0.98 or 1.0 OS. All the additional info is in the release notes included with the OS upgrades.
i expect (nae hope) (nae demand) that the two units will have extremely similar possibilities beyond the physical differentiators, i’d not be surprised if it was also the same os we load - in all seriousness i think the differences will be negligible, the bigger one will have more keys in front of you and a joystick for performance or maybe data entry and a few dedicated buttons, it may not be anticipated that a4 owners will seek to use their devices as master midi controllers so i don’t expect this will get sucked in, but then again, why exclude it for those with no keyboard but plenty of softsynths or modules, i like th emini-keyboard, it’s just right ! as long as we get the multimap mode i’ll be happy, so we can feed in drums from the A4 - we’ll know soon enough i guess

Hopefully they’ll come out with “chain” mode at some point so we can use two (keys or original A4 in any combo) for 8 voice poly …
Can’t complain though … the keys version is very interesting to me. I’d love 4 octaves instead of 3, but can’t b*tch too much, at least they didn’t go with 2!!

Ok so 4000+ sounds, that’s way cool, but how many kits (I save much more as kits than as sounds)? Patterns?
Any hint on arpeggiator development? Will it be p-lockable?

you can nudge a page a whole step, but that’s not what you meant i guess (Fn + < or > for anyone unaware) applicable to mute, accent and slide pages separately !
kits are a sub-part of projects, can’t remember exactly but he maybe mentioned 128 projects, so 128 x what you already have, the sounds are separate from projects except the current allocation amount per project - projects are versions of the current workspace, so you’ll still only have access to 128 kits at one time and any you have via c6

oh, so are we gonna get key tracking? 
that’d open up some nice sounds, that frankly i’m lazy and’d rather not spend the time locking. 
yeah, curious about this extreme rez. an addition or a replacement? it’s already great, i think. i spend more time pinging the filters than I do with the oscillators to be honest.
my only real complaint left is the modulation destinations selection process:
knobs in the middle + no way to quickly cancel if you twist one accidentally. i’m thinking this is going to be even more of a drag for keyboard players because, wider field of vision + hands spread more w/ joystick and keys = more screw ups. 
and it’s a loooong list of destinations, which, yeah, thank you, 
but please, let me page through it. i suspect this will change because keys users don’t need to use the arrow keys to change octave, which is what they do currently. and function + arrows does zilch.

Its 26 nov now, where can i download the new OS?
We might be surprised…the desktop monomachine has the settings for the joystick in the menu even though it obviously doesn’t have the physical joystick. It’s all up to Elektron…

Who promised the new OS on November 26th? Elektron mentioned more info on the AK today…nothing more.

Hello,
I read your messages and looked at the videos… I am lost on one point:
- in the video, on the first page of this forum, it is mentionned more sounds slots (more memory) with +drive.
I understood that the OS will be upgraded on our current A4, but if you want more memory (the 4000 sounds announced), we may need the +DRIVE, no?

the +Drive will appear when the OS is installed, the hardware is in your machine, don’t panic !
