Reaching out to Analog Heat MKII owners, using it as the main Audio Interface under macOS Sequoia.
macOS Sequoia 15.7 (latest), MacBook Pro M1Max
Accessory permissions set to: Always allow
Analog Heat MKII, firmware 1.22
I’ve been using the Analog Heat as my daily Audio Interface for a long time, without ever running into issues, until upgrading to macOS Sequoia. It’s been a nightmare since.
It’ll work for a few days, but issues can occur at any time. I’ve noticed that trouble often starts with Chrome, yet switching to Safari doesn’t resolve the issue either.
YouTube videos or Bandcamp tracks either won’t start playing or play, but without passing on audio to the Heat. Audio playback from any source can stutter, or the Heat won’t simply be recognized by the system.
Overbridge running or not, doesn’t make a difference, at least not that I could detect any interference.
Before, I’ve been using the Analog Heat on my Intel MacBook Pro 2019, running macOS Monterey, trouble-free.
It’s frustrating, and I’m wondering if other users share a similar experience, and if this is a phenomenon Elektron is aware of, so it could ideally be fixed with a firmware update.
I’ve been having similar issues where all my Elektron gear is not being recognized via Overbridge. Also running OS 16.2.1
At first I thought it might be the USB hub and I changed the Mac security setting to always allow accessories (which wasn’t enabled), but even with that on I get nothing. And I do seem to have issues with that Hub as even a USB thumb drive won’t mount.
However, I’ve tried plugging my AH+FX in directly to my Mac and it still doesn’t work.
For example, if I plug my AH+FX directly and go to ‘System > USB Config’ and select ‘USB Audio/Midi’ then I get a message from Bitwig asking if I want to use the AH+FX as an audio interface so it’s being recognized. But, if I then deselect that and select ‘Overbridge’, the Overbridge plug-in does not recognize it at all.
If I look into my System Report I can see the AH+FX plugged into the Hub so the Mac is seeing it but it just won’t work. Confused.
my snd acme4 wasnt able to receive midi over usb on sequoia so i rolled back to sonoma and all was back to normal. havent had any issues using sonoma with my current suite of plugins so im going to ride it out as long as i can
I just did a bit of a re-install. I rolled back my Accessories setting in Mac OS, re-installed Overbridge and things seem to be working again. Fingers crossed…
From what I read, Sequoia has known issues with USB connections, including audio interfaces, yet this only occurred in the latest updates in my case.
I’ll re-install Overbridge, but don’t think that’s at the root of the problem (who knows). Interestingly, my other audio interfaces are working well — no issues. Hence, I was wondering if there are known bugs in the 1.22 firmware.
