Analog Heat +FX Feature Requests

Hey, Avantronica!

The box doesn’t work as a sound card on Manjaro Linux: I tried it and it fails.

I just proposed to make it works as a sound card on Linux to avoid too much A/D conversion, but, this is not an issue for me as I have a good sound card (Steinberg UR 22 Mk II).

The limiter is more important, for me

Cheers!

Have param+No reload parameters as they were set in last loaded preset, not arbitrary default values (or allow us to choose global defaults).

A parametric EQ to scoop some mids out.

Ability to exclude parameters from randomization (e.g dry/wet), otherwise cool things disappear when it lands on dry.

Old preset save/selection (at least the option please) It now takes 4 clicks to reload a preset… (was only 2 before) which is awkward when performing. It was great before imo, press/hold for load/save.

(all after upgrading to FW 1.01)

I agree. This, unfortunately, really made the device worse.

Sorry, what’s the feature request? :face_with_monocle::upside_down_face:

Thoughts after v1.01:

  • Thank you for all the great new features and your hard work!

  • My cassette illustration idea is still :fire::fire::fire:! The idea: have the capstans spin faster to indicate change in speed. Currently the tape remaining changes with depth, but nothing for speed.

  • +1 on the option to go back to the old preset loading/saving option. “Fast load/save” checkbox.

  • The :speaker::x: BYPASSED is very distracting and covers the cool graphics you all have worked so hard on. I like to see them while I set up my FX before activating it. The graphics are a helpful visual guide for me. How about putting the :speaker::x: in the top bar margin all the way to the right?

Thanks again

An instant patch temporary save and patch recall would be awesome.
Settings+Yes to temporary save a state. Settings+No to recall it or if no temporary state saved, it recalls the save state of the preset in the +drive.

A performance page in the mod menu to control 4 different macros that can control each 4 four parameters. I sometimes use the 3 LFOs to create complex and intricate rythms and so macro performance would allow to program speed modulations on all LFOs that could be played live.

An option to enable alternate routings of the FX chain. For example, allowing the input signal to be send to two parallels path, one with delay+bit and other plus heat+warble would allow to create effects that can’t be done easily or at all now (like a lo bit delay where the dry signal isn’t affected by the bits FX).

oh shoot my bad, didn’t catch that.

not sure if many will share this use case but pretty sure this would be a a great addition.

Currently i have the Heat+ receiving midi IN and use THRU to send clock to another device.
OUT port is currently not connected.
I know i can connect another device for sync which is great!

In this situation i’m using the device in analog mode with no modulation whatsoever, just an end of chain subtle colour/saturater.
Which means i have 3 LFOs and an envelope mod being unused.

It would be awesome to have MIDI CHAN + CC out options within the Heat+'s modulation destinations.

What about an option to make a module processing the delay feedback loop ?
I was thinking about an option that would allow a module to be take out from the main audio path to be just used in the delay feedback loop. For example, we could have the bits FX just altering the repeats from the delay FX but not the dry signal.
About the UI, it could be something like this : in the flow page, the module placed next to the delay module could be switched into delay loop processing by the combo “SETTINGS”+“YES” or maybe “YES”+“NO”.

think it might already be mentioned but to emphasise on it:

mirror the usual “FUNC+Encoder” function of snapping to zero or other useful values.
SETTINGS+Encoder snapping just to even numbers is too fiddly when doing it live you just want some parameter to shut off to zero.

good ideas out there, how about an amp pan control? I made a harmonic tremolo, which freqpans but it would be nice to be able to pan the tremolo bit (happy to share the preset as it is).

Also a pitch and speed control for the reverb like the Strymon Night Sky as well as reverb algorithms, i.e. plate, spring, heaven etc (no idea about the computational feasibility of it, but it does no harm to ask). I could then sell my Night Sky.

An SOS looper with ‘tape’ like features like wow, flutter etc (probably definitely unfeasible).

The concept of modularity, serial, parallel processing already mentioned would be really cool.

How about the ability to clone/print heat blocks into digital ones, so you have a patch and you can print it into a block, i.e. a clone block. So I would have a harmonic tremolo and I could print a digital copy that is then a block.

My request is pretty simple.

I would like to see visual feedback of the parameters changing on the LCD when an expression pedal is used.

Lol just the way you phrased that felt pretty gangster.

“My request is simple…you either pay up, or I’m going to introduce you to this here baseball bat. Looks nice but its got a hell of a temper. You know what im saying?”

I’m sorry you interpreted it that way

don’t be, this could be the approach that gets results.

either we get Macro Performance control or my AH+FX sleeps with the fishes.

Meh, its the internet ya see?
Who doesn’t want to looked like a gangster, ya see?

Bigsix has auto mono when only left channel is physically plugged in, duplicating to LR.

Not sure if this is a hardware or software thing, but if it is possible with a software change: would be nice on AH (then have stereo fx opportunities)

What is Bigsix? It is somehow possible on the AHFX but I can only manage to do it after 100 tries and can never remember what I did different that time^^

BigSiX is a mixer.

You could take the left out of the heat into a mono (sampling or otherwise) channel elsewhere.

But repeatedly pulling/inserting jacks into the heat probably isn’t recommended…
