Let me pre-face this before starting a religious war. The only analog gear I have right now is a Bass Station II and the Korg Volca’s. The rest of my gear are all VA synths and compose some of my favorite synths in general. I am not an analog fan boy but am GASing hard for an AK for so many reasons and partly because it is analog done right in my book. I do understand the pros and cons of analog and virtual analog and personally enjoy having some blend of each.
Anyway, I was watching Sonic Talk and perked up when I heard this segment:
Has anyone else who plays live or mixes for live events experienced this? I’ve seen many discussions on VA vs analog OTB vs ITB etc and no one has ever come right out and said on a live PA, analog synths sound massively better and fuller over DSP based or sample based instruments.
