When initializing a new sound, tracks 2 and 3 sound out of tune, almost like like there is a vibrato effect applied to them. Tracks 1 and 4 don’t seem to be affected as much. I even set the vibrato speed and depth to zero just to make sure they’re not on but it still doesn’t sound right.
The manual says don’t try calibrating your A4 unless directed by support so I didn’t want to mess with that. Otherwise, I’ve tried everything I can think of including clearing each track, loading a new kit, loading a new project, power cycling, etc.
Sounds to me like a calibration might fix that problem. On other analog gear it’s important to have it running for some time before doing calibration, probably the same on the A4.
If I was you I would just keep it on for an hour and then calibrate. But that’s me. (I like to live dangerously! :D)
Update: I played the A4 today and didn’t experience this issue. I created a new project and everything is working fine. Maybe it was a performance macro after all? Thanks guys.
After seeing this problem again I discovered the crappy Alesis midi controller I was using was partly to blame. The aftertouch and velocity on it was completely screwed up so I threw it in the trash. All is good now
