Analog Four mk2 with Model:Samples

Hi, just received my Model:Samples. Now I will set it up with my AF. Just want time sync. Which one would you set up as master, and why? Or should I consider even more options?

I would use the AF MkII as the sync master because it has a Song mode that allows you to pre-program (save) playback of patterns in specified orders.

It’s always good to consider your options. What other options do you have?

…in studio use…the a4 of course…but live, the model samples…tempo per pattern…
if u don’t wanna bother a4s song mode…
but i must admit…that’s only in theory…never used the model as a master clock…was always a slave to the rhythm…and is now my sons first drummachine…

The Analog Four has tempo stored per pattern since OS 1.40 (October 2019). So there’s no advantage in that respect to have the M:S as sync master.

…oh…good to know…my a4 mk1 is not updated since ages…

Just commenting that I’ve found so many of your comments on topics like this extremely helpful. Got an Analog 4 MKII this week, and transitioning it to be the master in a DN/DT setup, and this post helped explain some additional advantages, like tempo per pattern.

These machines are extremely deep!

Is it possible to change the pattern to Model Samples when changing the Analog 4 pattern? If yes, how to set it up?
Thanks for the answer!
