Analog Four - Guidance on using separate outputs

Hi. I am using an Analog Four with my current USB interface - just taking the main stereo out. I’m thinking of upgrading the interface with more inputs and so I have the option of taking the four voices via the separate voice outputs. I have 2 questions for anyone with experience:

  1. Are those separate voice outputs stereo jacks?
  2. If I use the separate outputs, is there any reason to take the main stereo out also?
  3. If I use the A4 in poly mode, how does it work with the separate voices? If I played a Cm7, would every note go to a different output? Or does it go to a single output? Which one?
    Thank you!
  1. On mkII A4 the outputs are stereo TRS but can also be used as mono with a TS jack.
  2. the reason to also take the stereo out is only valid if you are using internal effects, in which case you’ll be using the main stereo out for the FX.
  3. In poly mode each voice will still go out their respective output jack.

If you’ve got usb you also have the option of overbridge to free up your current usb interface.

Thank you @salami.wav and @re5et for your responses. Very helpful. Have never used overbridge but will give it a shot.

Ok, then I had another question. I now know that the A4 outputs are stereo, but is there any problem using them as mono, i.e. just connecting them to a mono input? Thanks

Not massively. You only get stereo when you use Pan. If you don’t use Pan then mono works fine. If you’re using stereo FX then that still requires stereo master out.

Thanks @KidYoshi that feels like the way to go.
