Ambient Percussion sample pack ideas

hi all, i’m keen to get some ambient rhythm vibes, to play a few loops in the Octatrack whilst a friend plays the Animoog…

just hoping to find some sample packs, or maybe OT pack releases…
i am seeking slightly softer sounding types of loops … maybe a ‘no kick’ pack could be the way forwards.

cheers for any adventurous ideas on progressive approaches to getting some funky ambient rhythm vibes happening on the OT.

The Hang Drum, sounds amazing, i bought a sample pack, but its not so adapted for the OT, for example each sound has dozens of nuances, enabling you to set up different samples to different velocity ranges (on an mpc for example)

that sounds like a nice arrangement of textural tone variations to play with.

i guess one major influence for the sound being sought is BOC’s “Music Has The Right To Children”. also, the track “Everything You Do Is A Balloon”.

maybe just some savvy re-sequencing hip hop loops, P-Locks on volumes and filters, slight chorus here and there.

Plus i find particularly hard to harmonize with the rest in the context of a track… i really love this as SOLO + few noise, atmosphere and ambient drums… but in other context i find it’s not working at my ears…

cheers for the ideas … currently i am finding just using the OT as a drum sample machine is doing the trick.
Enjoying a selection of ‘glitch hop’ hi hat samples along with minimal house one shots.

This one-shot sequencing approach really helps with sound quality as i am able to switch off the “Sync” option for each sample, keeping the tone more consistent across bpm changes.
