Hey all

I rarely record myself playing but i cut this snippet out of a test i was doing for my new interface. Yes there is a compressor on the master channel of Reaper but other than that this is Analog Four direct into the Line In of my interface.

I was doing alot of travel this month and I was lucky enough to have my A4 in my backpack the entire time. Thanks for listening! -J

Oh hey! … almost forgot - does anyone else do anything droney or ambient with their Elektron stuff? I try to do some acid or 90’s EDM style stuff too but I do so enjoy droney ambient music a la Eno, Cluster, Aphex’'s Selected Ambient Works, Boards of Canada etc…

I do this kind of work. Right now I am in the process of doing a split release with a friend, and I’m just waiting on the artwork to do it official.

I don’t know that I am like the artists you listed, I have a lot of influence from straight up drone like Sunn O)) and Earth and more modern people like Tim Hecker, but I listen to all those artists you listed and love them.

I love to make this kind of music outside, especially in a park. Theres a park by me that is always empty, has a gazebo with outlets, and I literally go there with my Analog Keys and headphones and just jam for hours looking at nature. Really great experience for writing ambient drone stuff.

Hey that sounds like an excellent setting to make some droney goodness! If you have any examples online I’d love to listen.

This is the first track i ever recorded from the first week that I had my Analog Four. Doepfur Dark Energy is on the bass as well. Funny how I’ve learned so much more since recording this track. I didn’t know how to use Performance mode or anything at this time. I’ve since lost this track after that time i forgot to hit Save while switching projects. Live and learn, right? Anyway - i just found this track again and felt it right to post it. Enjoy.

dug the strato nimbus track, great melody and tasteful use of the a4’s effects.

Thanks! Yea Strato’s from like 2 weeks ago. I’ll hopefully have an EP of songs of that nature out by spring. The fact that my Analog Four fits in my backpack when I travel for work is like the best thing ever.
