I - seriously - wish, I‘d have been earlier to the party, where MD-UWs were affordable🫣
But: the non UW helps me a lot to stay focused.

Ah sweet, good to know the MD can do that sort of thing. I’m into it. I really should use the FM+ machines more too.
For a while I was sad/jealous not to have a UW, but more recently I’ve realized the MKI is plenty for me, and now I prefer crafting drums rather than selecting samples. Definitely good for focus and avoiding the rabbit hole of sample browsing.
I only recently started using the CTRL-8P machine and it’s amazing! I especially like it for slides of longer sounds, like cymbals.

It’s nice to have the option of samples, but truth be told the beauty of the Machinedrum is not in its sampling capabilities.
When I first purchased the MD I threw 909 and 808 samples in there. And while it did the job I never really loved it.
Then a few years later, after getting into modular synths, I picked up the MD again and decided to venture into its machines.
As you both well know, that is where the beauty of the MD lives.
I use samples but very rarely now, and only for certain things. The strength of the machines so very much outweighs it’s sampling capabilities, especially in amplification and manipulation.
So trust me when I say you are not missing much. If you want to use samples get an old DT1 going cheap and use that. It will most likely be better for samples than the MD.

No idea. Would love a resurrection or new X rated version of this project.
i actually prefer the idea of a project where sysex is shared with no audio, then another artist performs/records the pattern/kit however they interpret it…

In a few you will see the Octatrack playing, only because it’s my master clock for my live setup. If the camera is focused on the MD, it’s only the MD playing.

Is this the most unusual way you could find to allude to the Machinedrum and TR-1000?
If it was, I don’t get it, it was just a guess.
Maybe because I am not American.
Anyhoo, if in fact you do think they will get along, I agree.
I had the privilege of playing one a few weeks ago.
And now a TR is on order.
I see an MD, TR, Model 1 and a Space in my minimised live set future. If my assumption about the TR do go to plan.
(Edit - I figured out where it’s from. In bed when the mind wanders. Arnold is the T-800 which is the MD and the other actor is the T-1000 which may represent the TR in this instance.)

Perhaps that linked thread (Machinedrum ONLY Videos) is to be read as
- videos that contain MD as ONLY actor and not as
- ONLY videos of MD (= and no text)
- and that (the first reading) would exclude a lot of MD love like menage a trois with OT, DT, A4, TV
Apart from that, I don’t understand the ideas of (at some levels, I do, but not yet in this context)
- purity of a thread ensured by medium of text only
- remaining authority of a starter of a thread or discussion over what the community develops from there (same risk for any author: you newer know), although I can understand that is useful if threads are like spaces and might have clear rules - which should be stated at the door or in first or pinned post, if important
Anyway, love the MD.

How is the relation between Ram R and Ram P?
Is R1 linked to P1 or can the assignment be done as you like?
Using Ram R1 on M1 ,Ram P on M2 and M3 would allow different p locks on M2 and M3 - both using the recording buffer on M1?
Snapshots are like “projects” like on the current Elektrons?
