Alternative purpose for Analog 4 CV cables?

I used to control 4 parameter on the Minitaur using my A4 CVA and CVB outputs. However, I recently sold my Minitaur and now I have 2 redundant cables left.

These cables have (2 x mono jack) on one side and (1 x stereo jack) on the other side.

However, does someone know how I can use these cables for other purposes?
I want to connect effect pedal en compressor to my mixer.

Does these cables split the stereo channel to left and right?

Also I have never understood the “insert” input on my mixer. I feel like plugging cables anywhere, but I have no idea how to use these cables.

Maybe stupied question, but I tried some stuff and it didn’t work. But maybe someone here uses them for other things

Yep they are stereo to 2x mono cables. I use them for hooking synths to a mixer using headphone output (the ot headphone output is much more convenient than the main outs fir instance). They can be used as insert cables if you put the stereo side in the mixer insert, then the mono end to an fx input and the other mono end to an fx output.
I use them with my tempest too, as it has 6 stereo outs, for each voice one.

Might be a good idea to use headphone out of an OT to a mixer or sound card as the OT seems to have a bug on the output (one channel is always louder than the other, don’t remember if it’s left or right but recording with my UFX showed me this, sadly)

should work as an insert cable btw (make sure you get your in/out ends sorted)

some clever folks on here have previously routed the CV back into the external inputs - but be WARNED - keep the Voltages LOW - you can set range to whatever max you want - 1V would be safe for now, but don’t take my word for it, find the thread(s) thbw

you can use the CV LFO to push out some sine tones back into the A4 by all accounts, amongst other things of course

So how does this work when using it as insert cable for effect unit (I just received this beautiful Strymon Timeline)
If I connect 1 mono end in the input and the other mono end in the output this signal will go in two directions through 1 cable? Doesn’t look possible.

This only works that way when you have a mixer with inserts. Then you plug in the stereo side of the cable in the insert slot, one mono end to the fx unit OUT and one mono end to the fx unit IN. This basically gives you a mono delay with the timeline, which would be a shame.
If you have a mixer with aux sends, you can wire the timeline to the aux bus, and the left/right output of the timeline to the return channel.
If you don’t have a mixer, just route the audio to the timeline and then in your soundcard.

if you have a mixer with inset points you’ll almost certainly have two, and you already have two cables !! so you can run your fx in stereo

I am trying to set up the side chain connection of the FNR RNLA (really nice compressor).

If I am correct I can also use these cables to make side chain connection with this compressor.

Putting the stereo jack into the side chain and the mono jacks into the AUX send and return, right?
