Alternative cases for various gear? (Non-gigging travel.)

Bought a little Analog Case for my Syntakt. Barely fits and takes a lot of work to squeeze the power brick and cable inside. No where to put anything else. I also travel a lot with my MPC Live II. It is my favorite travel piece because of the battery and speaker. Looked at cases for it. Not a lot to choose from and a bit expensive. Saw a YouTube video of someone using a 15.6" laptop backpack for their Live II and other gear. That got me thinking about alternatives. Right now I am really thinking about a 20" carry on hard shell luggage solution. Don’t really need the casters they all seem to come with but I like the hard shell and my Live II should easily fit. It might even hold my Push 3. Models with the pop open front for laptops and other tech is a bonus. I’m a travel nerd. Beat box or two, MacBook, PC, iPad, chargers. I might even get a Volt in a 20" carry on case, or my KeyStep. Just to be clear, I’m not talking about a ready to play setup for gigging. More like going to visit family for a week, or taking a vacation and want to sit on the balcony and make music with something more than just a laptop.

So what are people here using as an alternative to specialized cases. Backpacks, laptop cases, messenger bags, carry on luggage?

Roller backpack for a computer. It’s hauled all sorts of small synths, cables, and an API lunchbox and mics.

Effects pedal cases. T-shirts provide great extra padding.

I have 2 of those.
You can fit 4 digis or 2 Analog (or 1 OT+1A4).
With their PL-2 on of course. And a tote bag around each to avoid removing the rubber feet.
Absolutely perfect for my needs.

Ouch 2kg for the bag itself, starts to count when you’re travelling.

NB: 4 to 5 Weeks to wait for availability.

Got on Amazon during the Prime sale and ordered a 20" hardside carry on case ($100), and a two piece soft side set (19" carry on and 13" tote) that was less than $30. Together this is less than the cost of the MPC Live II case that I was considering. If the soft side bags are even half way decent this will work well. I may even order another set, and maybe a small roll of rubber foam for packing protection.
