started to watch a video but kinda checked out when it sounded like they intend it to pair up with the DJ controllers. will it work in standalone as like an end-of-chain FX if you wanted to apply the filter etc. to other gear?

Yes, if it works like predecessor RMX-1000, which I believe, it works like a normal pedal and you can put it in the end of a chain. I have RMX-1000 and it is awesome to have it after all my synths.

I also currently have an RMX-500 that I use as Dawless end-of-chain.
I was REALLY psyched when I heard they were coming out with a new one. But…meh. After watching the videos, my excitement faded.
I feel like they actually removed a lot of cool features and FX that the 500/1000 had. They added some cool things, of course, but I dunno. I can’t help but feel like they missed the mark with this one. After like 13 years of waiting, it certainly doesn’t blow me away and I feel they made some strange choices
And then there’s the price. Wowzers

I believe RMX-Ignite is first and foremost for professional DJ:s who also has the right gear, but I like RMX-1000 so much so I believe it would be nice to have it in my humble “studio” because of the quality of the sound and future updates. I will combine Ignite with 500 and 1000 when it arrives. Could be very interesting. If you never tried a RMX-station I can describe it like being a DJ, put on effects and drumsamples and then with a quick push of a button go back to dry signal again.

I was super excited when I heard there was a new RMX coming out, but after watching the video (and seeing the hefty price tag) I decided that I’m good with my RMX-500.
This feels like a stripped down version of that. The sample pads don’t do it for me, I have plenty samplers already. The only thing I’d like from this, are the proper inputs and outputs instead of RCA.

RMX-500 and RMX-1000 are fantastic units, looking forward to this one.
Yeah! I feel like there is actually LESS fx possibilities with this new one as opposed to what you could do on the 500

Tell us more why you reacted this way? 
Because frankly this is far less interesting to me than a modern yamaha rmx1 reboot but different people have different priorities

You mean the RM1X!
The subject line of this should include that this RMX1000 is by AlphaTheta, that would quell some GAS
The subject line should also clarify that this RMX1000 is not flammable.

Got mine today. It looks, feels and sounds very nice. A different way to use it compared to 500/1000 because of the sampler upgrade and the levers, but somehow familiar. I really like it, but will not sell 500/1000… yet.

Incidentally, what do you prefer between the 500 and 1000?
I prefer 1000 before 500. But they together is really nice… … and confusing sometimes.
