Nice! I have been looking for a Mixer for a little Vinyl setup! This seems great for that

I have a long-standing dream to put together a double-M:S set and play out with them a la DJ. I have the 2x M:S units, but I don’t have a 2-channel mixer. This would 100% be the one for me!

I wish that they would make hardware in the UK again instead of CHINA

It certainly would be nice to see manufacturing jobs move back to the countries where the design and engineering is taking place. I don’t know how likely that is in the next decade. Perhaps the collapse of long-standing trade patterns and relationships will lead to some of this.

I’ve just ordered the 24c with the intent of using it for hybrid sets:
-2 turntables (phono)
-3 Bitwig channels (USB) (or traktor)
-digitone 2 and Model samples + another HW synth(2 lines + aux)

-LCXL 3 and BCF-2000 for midi control + keylab for melodies
-various multi FX for the master in.

Looking forward to trying that out.

Are you looking to do some variation of those inputs? Because an input can only do one of those things at a time. It can’t simultaneously be a USB, phono, and line input on the same channel.

Yes,
switching from one type of input to another.
For example, start off as a DJ set with turntables (2 phono inputs), then switch to the DN2 (line) and the Model samples (line), then maybe go back to the turntables or switch to bitwig tracks (3 USB channels).
The idea is to perform with as much flexibility as possible.

I bought the 23c a few weeks ago and I love it.
I love the build and the feel of all the faders and knobs.
It sounds great and the filter is very satisfying.

the 24c is great for hybrid setups. You can connect turntables (phono), a Computer running mixing software or a DAW (USB) and a few other instruments (line) and switch from one to another very smoothly.
I think it’s a great mixer for somebody who wants to mix different types of DJing sources with some live performance.
I use two turntables, a DAW (Ableton or Bitwig) and some hardware devices (mainly a Digitone 2 and a model samples).

A few other features I really like:
-the general design
-DVS
-USB hub to add two USB controllers or devices
-3 cross-fader modes
-split cue (fantastic for preparing the next track)
-the fact they use black light paint (so that you can read everything easily in usual party conditions).
-the various USB modes: mode 3 is great with a DAW: you can record the 3 channels separately as stems (pre fader) along with the all midi automation of the faders and knobs. So you can easily edit your mix or performance in your DAW later on.

I bought the Xone 24c because I want to use it in a hybrid setup with an iPad or Macbook. Unfortunately the Xone does not show up as a sound card in Ableton Live and AUM. I contacted the A&H support but didn’t get a reply. Does anybody here knows how to fix this? I tried three different USB cables.

the xone 24c is class complient so it should work out if the box.

there are charging cables with usb-c connector. maybe the cables you tried are just for charging?

just to be sure. You are using the right USB port, right? (the one with a laptop logo)

On windows, you would need to install drivers, but on Mac, it should work out of the box.

As per the manual, are you connecting to the USB-C port on the mixer?

“The Xone:24C supports three full-duplex USB audio routing modes, accessible via the USB-C HOST-Port.”

I tried three different cables but will buy a better one. Do you have any recommendations?

Yes, I used all three ports. The iPad gets powered by the two host ports but does not show up as a sound card on all three ports.

just make shure its a real usb-c and also not the cheapest you can find.

but its probably not the cables. i dont have a a&h 24 myself but took a look at the manual. there are different usb modes and quite some routing and setup options. maybe there is the problem

you probably also need some adapter or to be able to connect the mixer to the ipad and charge it in the same time.
