All black A4 MK1 doable?

I know there’s the white on black screen modification. Caps on the knobs can also be bought in black. But what about the rest of the buttons? Do these buttons even exist in black somewhere? I could paint them black but afraid I’ll screw it up.

you could find some one to print them for you. But thats gonna cost a lot if you cant model them yourself.

Plastic dye perhaps?

I’ve often thought about doing this too.

The prototype OT had black buttons:

You could probably 3D print buttons in whatever filament you like

The depths wrt the MK2 encoder caps is slightly different, I can’t recall off the top of my head, but either way it is a recoverable situation

I have ‘excavated’ the excess from a few spares I had for a different purpose and the other solution is the more straightforward ‘packing’ up

Both not too much a hassle as they are usually set and forget - these old grey ones don’t age well I think it’s why they are moving to black

I also managed to do a simple stealth-grade on A4 buttons using permanent ink

Here’s an accidental capture of one, it was grey

Thats looks sweet. I’ll send Elektron an email and see if I get any response.

I’ve never 3D printed something in my life before.

Never done that either.

So Glad they seem to finally realise that all black is the way to go. All that grey and military style looks over the years. Hopefully they get the formfactor thing as well.

I actually wish they did more color options.
