tried the lfo to retrig way, not finding anything worthwhile. I like the euclidian way of creating beats and such.

How would you create a pattern of say hi hats from one sample with lfos?

well tried different trig/speed/depth and multi-lfos parameters configuration but couldn’t find a clear method of going to a beat divsion i like.

In other words i can influence rythm change but not control it.

I think the mutable intruments midipal maybe worth checking out. It uses that method as one if it’s sequencing (along with sh101 type sequencing)

yeah there’s a bunch of devices (mostly euro format) for algorithmic generated patterns. But must be a workaround in OT to go from 1/16 div to 1/8 div without changing the time scale.

An other pb is that external sample trigging can be hit or miss from my experience.

the lfos really are the main tool for generative processes in the OT. i find you need one lfo for the retrig and one for lfo for the timing. the timing lfo can have continual variations, while the retrig amount should be a designer lfo with a lot of 0s and some short bursts in multiples of 4. lfo to slice number and lfo to rate also produce fantastic variations.
