Any takers over here ?
I have little clue what you are talking about or what your issue is. From the other thread it looks like you are having troubles overdubbing existing notes because the overdubbed notes retain the velocity from the first take?
I can’t do this right now, but maybe someone else can confirm this behaviour?
Maybe i need to re-read the post !
Yep
If you record velocity on a first pass with AR or A4, you cannot overdub with the same note, only a new note, this is a huge pita for ar and a smaller pita for a4/ak !
Seems like a big deal to me, but maybe this is an unwelcome aspect of plocks that’s resulting in this outcome
Oh, I see on the Rytm that’s pretty much a flow killer.
Why doesn’t this annoy more people or don’t they notice? I guess that if you want to redo a take, you’ll mostly kill the whole track or remove steps in grid mode, or simple the previos velocity is close enough and people aren’t paying attention to the velo-details.
Yet, I’d say this is a bug!
indeed, for the most part with the sketchy velocity response, people may get frustrated thinking the machine is not playing to their expectations, once you know, then you can adapt, i think it’s less an issue for a keys instrument, but i bet it’s the same issue at origin, i.e. sequencer mechanics
i think it’s reasonable to assume that you would overdub, so in that regard, it’s a huge pita on AR and not welcome on any other box !
It reminds me how i can’t overdub midi tracks in the Octatrack, it will simply kill the previous notes if they happen to be on the same step, even though there are 4 notes available to record per step
It looks like overdubbing isn’t something Elektron care about …
It has little to do with your problem but
I’ve had thesame issue - even if there are no trigs at all - sometimes notes don’t get recorded. Until now only with the AK.- Overdubbing probl allso with the A4.
