Aira TR- 8 - it continues

I’m actually intrigued… and patiently waiting.

http://www.musictech.net/2014/01/namm-2014-roland-aira-weve-seen-it/

he says it blew him away… and will be “worth it” and kinda stole NAMM for him without it even being shown.

time will tell… and I need a “drum machine” just a drum machine.

wtf?

are you working for musictech.net? that article is a total non-info clickbait bullshit.
way to go making an actual thread for this, even the thread title is just internet cancer: it makes a promise of some content, but inside it is merely a fart. not cool. :zonked:

what’s not cool about it? I think it’s of interest.
and any info on it is worth sharing.

surely you must be kidding? “haj guyze i have seen the aira and i am not going to tell you anything about it”, sums up the article behind that link. non-info.

you’re right. there was no info, or any specs.
however the article says what he saw and heard in the hotel room blew him away… this interests me.

how much do we know about Rytm’s specs, how much of it’s actual un processed sounds from have we heard?

I do not work for them… I read their magazine, I like it actually, Computer Music and Sound on Sound too…

and I really hope the TR-8 is “sick” and “new and exciting”

I’m with Void. Meh, and pretty much a non-article. It could have just as easily been put into the existing Aira thread.

Well, i have seen it, too. Little old school imo

Think you guys are being too harsh on OP.

Article says the guy has been to NAMM 20 times and that he’s super pumped about this peace of gear.

I don’t give a shit about it myself but that isn’t the point.

Have you been to NAMM 20 times with the ability to contextualize something from this year’s show in light of all that experience?

This site is for starting threads. If you don’t like a thread don’t fucking read it, let alone comment in it.

Just sayin’ …

well… to me, the “article” is pretty much one thing: obnoxious marketing SPAM.

and I pointed it out to OP because I felt tricked into thinking there might be something worth reading or looking at if I follow that link. the thread title does imply this.

a better title for the thread would be: “Aira TR8 - some guy you never heard of claims he likes it”. ya know?

Whoa. OP was just posting something they thought was interesting. Why such a harsh response?

If you think it’s junk, ignoring it is probably a better idea.

yeah reading it again, indeed a bit harsh… didn’t mean to. sorry.

we’re all people in here we’ve never met or heard of… and we turn to each other for advice…

I did not mean to trick anyone, and maybe I got a bit over excited about that write up. (maybe it’s my wishful thinking - I really need a drum machine  )

it’s okay void. it was a bit harsh. but I also got what you were saying too.

I understand both sides and I raise a 3rd…

We need colorful emoticons asap
The old rainbow one would do the trick right about now

We are here because we love to make music with machines.

We all hope the new roland “airbag” doesn’t suck, and naturally some of us have given up on that being possible.

Peace,
Hippy trippy Semitone lol

Ehm… seems it is not completely Void

Or is it… looks like jupiter 80 transformered into Tr8080

It is nice to see there is so many controls (faders), and maybe there is a chance they will keep getting closer and closer to realizing what the electronic hardware world wants.

But it is sad if it is to be another mediocre imitation of a beautiful piece of Japanese electronic musical history. The Jupiter 8 is so beautiful and metallic and it sounds just as big and bad as its 50lbs of hardware looks… And the Tr808 is just as solid and powerful.

These new products have some particular flavor of weakness built in…

One would think that they have the time, money, and power to drop Anlog/Digital hardware bombs…

I would love to have to eat my words, but it just doesn’t look or sound likely

Possibly an advanced electribe

Sounds horrid from that video.
