I have updated to 1.1.1 and I saved my Projects before updating.
Now ALL my saved projects sound totally different! No saved sound is the same, like it was with the older firmware…
All my songs I started with A4 (and the old firmware) are unusable.
I have a strange problem with A4 delay (A4 is synced as slave to my DAW via MIDI In). If delay is activated and volume of the delay is noticeable, every time I step through the sound menu (OSC1,2, Filter, etc.), I notice a huge delay drift with a lot of pitch ups/downs. It’s a short drift after pressing a button.
I have tried to reinstall the new firmware four times with no luck.
Do I miss something?? Do you have the problem too??
Is it possible to reinstall the old firmware?? If yes, is someone here who could upload the old firmware for me…
I observed issue #2 a few times. As i’m new to A4, i thought that i’d pressed something wrong. I can’t reproduce it again. Can someone confirm that it was a bug?
Funny i was just about to start a thread… here’s what I noticed:
the delay time sounds like it falls out of sync with the midi clock the moment any of the page buttons are pressed. I tried empty and factory reset and the problem persisted as soon as I turned up the delay send
Unplugged midi cable from the A4 midi in, restarted the OT (which sending clock/program change) and the delay problem is solved.
This was about an hour ago, I was afraid my midi cable was damaged or something but it looks like I’m going to try to revert to the old firmware as well
I haven’t received any answers from Elektron support yet, so I don’t know if it’s possible or ok to downgrade A4 with older firmwares…
I have synced my A4 via MIDI cable to my DAW, because this worked better with MIDI clock. I think I will give USB a second try and I hope this will work better and without problems.
My sound problem is still the same and I have to reconstruct all my old songs
let a pattern play, and then whilst the sequencer is running go in to poly config and enable all 4 voices and scroll through all the various allocation settings (unison, reset, rotate etc)
it seems to be happening then, but if I unplug the midi cable and plug it back in it stops the delay falling out of sync problem when hitting the various parameter page buttons
very strange and it seems to be reoccurring for me. yikes
I saved the project file to A4 as a project!
I always save to a computer via sysx when doing any os upgrade, most manufacturers recommend that.
Might be that the saved data somehow got corrupted when you upgraded.
Havent upgrade yet so don’t know about the other problem
Best of luck
Nope. Can’t recreate your bug. Tried exactly as you said with perfect timing the whole way. Might be something from the DAW causing it.
thanks for checking, I’m sending midi clock and start stop from the OT so I doubt it’s a DAW issue.
I have been having the same and happened during a gig - looking into it!
how’d it sound?
did anyone notice?
or
was it complete F Up?
Hope that doesn’t sound nasty,
I’ve always been interested in on stage ballsups
ever since when doing a live to air (radio) gig in a pub
we for the first time completely messed up a song, everyone playing out of time
and had to stop, yes stop! and start the song again.
Frightfully embarrassing.
warning… not sure if this will happen to other people. but i went back to OS1.1D (because i can’t have that weird delay problem while performing) and it erased all my kits. fun stuff.
Since i’ve upgrade to 1.11 i noticed that the reverb mix volume not triggered right through the lfo’s on the fx channel, for example to create a bumping reverb effect between the kick… No matter how i adjusting.
And still got the same old bug as before that level controllerbug on the modulations, aftertouch, breathcontroller page. If i turn the knob up to 127 it freezes and can’t turn it back, only when i press the knob down! Yep, delay doesn’t work correct.
