Here is a track I made only with Digitakt, and arranged in Ableton after recording the audio loops from DT.
No additional FX, mastering, etc - DT audio only.
All sounds were based on a same single sample, which was a 20-30 sec recording of the ambient noise at my house one morning, via a Zoom H6 directly into DT.
(These were all self-imposed restrictions.)

dig the repetition and the variations. not super into the vocal-like sample, but it works. good quality sounds

What would be on the top of your list to change, if i were to try and take it a step ‘up’ - and remove some of the restrictions (or not?)
Maybe try dropping
that prominent sound (on step three I think) in and back out of the mix in certain sections, could bring more dynamics
