i m looking for a good stereo reverb for the mono, any advice ?
i saw the strymon, eventide, tc electronic and cathedral, what do you think about these ones? does the tc is enough or big sky or space worst the extra euros?
I believe Eventide gives you the most for the money.
I’m glad I have an A4 to run MonoMachine through, though. It has a wonderful reverb that’s right up my alley. Nicely lush and p-lockable. I’ll use the MonoMachine’s reverb for short decay, “plate” style reverb, and between the two I feel I can get what I want.
But without an A4, H9 is an excellent investment. You could do some fun things when not using the H9 as a reverb, like looping and reverse looping (in mono, though).
For ultra-cheap - look at the Zoom MS-70CDR pedal. You can chain up to 6 FX, good for making that reverb sound a bit more interesting.
thanks for the reply, i m not absolutelly searching for the cheapest pedal, i d like a good reverb if the most expensive worst the price i could go for it but if a cheapest one make the deal i would go for it, but i was also looking for an a4 maybe it s the good choice, i wanted to free a track one the mono, i could get four more with the a4
I had the TC Nova reverb but returned it for the Eventide Space.
The TC was to much of a bread and butter reverb for my needs.
The Eventide is far more complex then most reverb pedals so if you are trying to add dimension to a MonoMachine patch then I think it pays to have more parameters and some of the Harmonizing features of the Eventide.
I feel the Eventide is more of an effect then just your standard 2 0r 3 knob Reverb that provides ambience.
I also have a Strymon flint which I use more on guitars, its simpler but sounds amazing, I assume the other Strymon pedals sound equally good.
Ensoniq DP4 has some good reverbs as well but not nearly as clean as the Eventides or Strymons.
Indeed. There comes a point when buying a high end FX unit where its like “well, I could spend $600 on this pedal, or for $350 more get a 2nd hand A4, with reverb, chorus, delay, loads of FX LFOs, and an entire bad-ass synth to boot!”
I think Eventides are worth every penny, especially if your music is heavily driven by FX. But if you can get more out of a synth that happens to be a quality FX processor as well, then why not?
i´m very happy with the eventide space.
sounds fantastic.
but these days also very cheap boxes sound really good sometimes !
(lol, i know people who would say the same thing having that eventide
space in mind)

do you need to use one of the four track to process external audio on the analog four or do you can have the four voices and the external audio running together?
Lexicon LXP-1
No, fortunately.
On the Analog Four there is a dedicated FX track, and there is an EXT-IN section of it. The FX are send/return style. So it allows you to “Send” to each effect, like you can each voice, independently.
You can have all 4 voices, and external input running at the same time.
If you wanted to use the filters/envelopes/overdrive on the external input, then yes you would have to use a voice. In that case, you choose your oscillator in the track/voice as “IN L”, or “IN R”.
reverb only
+1 for the eventide space, love mine
if money isn’t an object maybe look at the eventide RM units
eventide racks are too expensive for me!! i think i ll go for the space or the big sky or an analog four if i sell my virus ti desktop
The Digitech Polara, appears to be getting good reviews as an all round reverb. Many of the settings are based on the Lexicon reverbs with some custom ones of its own. I’m certainly looking closely at it with a view to adding to my system.
I mentioned that in case money wasn’t an object. ![]()
If you go with a pedal…I would suggest getting one with midi, i.e. the Space or BigSky…I’m partial to the Space, however, I have other Strymon pedals I love (i.e. ElCap, Deco).
If racks are an option, I really really like my Roland RSP-550. It’s a sleeper unit, and not that common, but man does it sound lovely, and they go for criminally low prices, all things considered.
LOL, no kidding. Never mind that you could also get a really nice audio interface for your laptop or even an iPad and have any number of high-quality digital effects that would also be p-lockable via midi as well.
i d like a pedal, no rackmount, better to suit in my case, and please no computer, i hate my mouse since i tasted elektron!!!
What he said.
Behringer V-Verb REV2496. Can be found for like 50 eur used. Kind of a sleeper - really, really nice algorithms for the price. No kidding.
…stompboxes make effects much more of an instrument you actually really can play…
and all these guitar boutique pedals top easily most of the average rack units these days…
i got the strymon big sky and the eventide space in daily use…
and they could’nt be more different…
the big sky has more charme if it comes to dense tails and dust…
and has the bigger palette in algorithms…the choir reverb is the instant dream pad machine and cloud speaks for itself full on…
but eventide is eventide…you can’t find more crystal air bending and overall glam anywhere else if you don’t go for lexicon hardware…and we’re not talking bout lxp1…
the blackhole algorithm is a planet of it’s own…
the mangled verb is a beast…and the rest is nothing but top class classics…
all very tweakable on the fly…
so if you’re looking for all standards at it’s best and some deep shimmering beauty on top of it all…the eventide space will make u happy forever…
if you’re more into smearing athmospheres, crackling, rusty chambers and glorious endless spaces you better fly to the big sky…
I think I might have to pick up the Big Sky. I’m using a Behringer Virtualizer Pro for reverb and it’s super lush, but I think it’s time I upgraded to something even more lush, haha. Plus, I didn’t even know it had MIDI support, so that’s definitely sealed the deal for me!
