Hi
I’ve had the monomachine for a week now, and am mostly using it to sequence my midified 808. I’ve started to explore the synth tracks and am surprised to not find any obvious accent controls.
I use the velocity on the midi tracks just fine-
I can’t find any references in the manual or here…
Whaddaya gotta do to get an accent going on this thing? different volume for each step I want accented?
thanks!

D - you’re right, there’s no dedicated accent track on the MnM, but there are ways around this.
Some of them are detailed in the Next Level document by Veets, page 44. I just uploaded the pdf to the files section.
What kind of midi message does the 808 need for playing the accent?
There is no native midi accent controller number, so there is no accent value in the mono (and a ton of other sequencers if not all).
In my 303 clone I can have accent with velocity above around 100, below it plays normal. Don’t know your midi mod.
Dubtronic- thanks- I’ll check that out tonight
tmk009- I have the CHD midi kit installed- and I find that velocity between 50 and 127 gives a pretty good accent variation, tho not as good as the 808 sequencer. If I make a midi clip in a daw, the velocity is really sweet
According to the midi kit manual velocity = 0 it’s the normal sound and velocity 2-127 is accent. Maybe it’s not that loud than the original but this is retrofit. It’s just like this.
So if you set on the Monomachine velocity to zero in general and set parameter locks where you need accent to velocity = 127 then this should be it.
so, yeah- nice that they have a velocity parameter for the midi tracks.
I’m sure it’s been complained about forever, but I wonder why not on the synth tracks?? I cant imagine it would be too difficult.
Uhm… Why you need velocity in the synth parts??? You can’t route velocity to a parameter, so velocity makes no sense… Or are you missing modulation features?
It seems you don’t have spent much time with the mono… Time to change it and stop looking for things to complain
