Just got my A4 yesterday. I’m used to Monomachine arp which is fantastic btw. I am a bit lost with A4’s arp though…
With Mono I can insert several notes per one sequence step to create arpeggios. Is this possible with A4? If not, what is the best way to use arp with A4’s sequencer?
Also I cannot find any arp latch function. With Mono you can use SID mode but with A4 I cannot find a way to keep arpeggio playing after I lift my fingers from the keyboard.
I did read the manual but didn’t find the answers from there.
You have to use the NO2, NO3, and NO4 parameters if you wish to create arps on the sequencer.
There is currently no way to record more than one note per trig on the sequencer, so parameter locking changes to NO2, NO3, and NO4 is the best way to do what you want.
This has confounded me as well because since only one note permitted per trig, it is seemingly as if it’s one or the other; a sequence track or ARP, but not both.
Could you please explain this a bit further please? I too, could not find clarity on this in current state of the A4 manual.
Thanks for explaining NO2-4 parameters, I don’t know how I managed to miss that when reading the manual. Probably because I was reading it 1 o’clock at night :). It’s all clear now. Hopefully they add more of those NO# -slots in a future, four pitches are not always enough. Oh yeah and that arp latch function too.
I really have a hard time understanding why they choose this arpeggiator model over the one in Monomachine. To me the Monomachine arpeggiator is how it should work. Being able to arpeggiate whatever I choose at the moment, not having to go into some menu and fiddle around.
So, for me, Monomachine arpeggiator model is the way to go!
