Ableton's 1-sample challenge

Hey guys,

Anyone else joining this today?

You got 12 hours to make a 90-second song out of a sample they’ll provide at 12pm PST (21:00 amsterdam time).

btw it’s not exactly a 1-sample challenge; you can use other samples too if u want :slight_smile:

I’m stupidly tired, so might have missed something - but I can’t find the sample, and I don’t understand the rules. You just have to use that sample in your track, and otherwise you can chuck in whatever else you’d like? Wouldn’t it be more interesting if all you could use was one sample?

Yes, but it was late o’clock by the time I submitted it and the kick is all over the place. Relatively happy with my efforts though. Decided just to use bits of the sample chopped up and loaded into my Digitakt, then buggered with until it resembled something vaguely interesting to my sleepy ears.

Oh they’ve been deleted! lol.

We got a sample to download, and we had to use it to create a 90 second piece, within the 12 hour limit. Not really any rules, other than when we uploaded, we were asked to fill in a google form describing our process and our thoughts as we worked.

Buried in here https://twitter.com/andrewhuang is some discussion about it, but not much :slight_smile:

I really like that, it’s much more like what I had in my head before I started. Mine ended up going a very different way though, no idea why.
