A beautiful ambient piece on the Move by State Azure. He uses two samples from Jogging House’s Sonic Beds and two instances of the stock Move preset Van the Man. It sounds great.

Hi

Can the Move power a keyboard such as keystep via USB?

Yes, I do this with my Keystep 37

Yep! Move can power my Launchkey 37 mk3 no problem. I’m pretty sure the Keystep draws a fraction as much energy.

This is great thank you.

Are there good pianos in the presets ?

I’m assessing a swap with my Wavestate MKII which I like a lot but is too painful to program.

No, because Move doesn‘t support multisamples.

You could make a drum rack with multi samples

Yes, you can do it that way. But that’s just a questionable workaround. He asked for good piano presets. The Move doesn’t have them because it doesn’t have a proper engine for this kind of sounds.

Well, it depends on what he means by “good”. Some of them are quite usable if you’re not expecting to record piano concertos with them, but rather a simple chord stabs or small melodic riffs

Thats true. Certain samples can actually be played well over several octaves. The fact that the melodic sampler works polyphonically is worth a lot.

Yeah, it’s definitely far from ideal. It would be lovely to have some of Live’s Spitfire pianos on the Move.

I made a FM Piano preset for Drift. I think it’s quite nice

Wow!

But also - WTF?! Ableton still doesn’t allow us to export Wavetable presets from Live to Move, right?

Nope, this is the only way to edit or create Wavetable presets for Move that I’m aware of.

You can smuggle it in through the project file, I’ve done so successfully, but you’d have to edit that by hand. From there you can save as a preset tho

Was in the process of making a mapping tool, but I’ve had way too much on my plate this past year
