As above I don’t think it’s any coincidence that this is all starting to come through just a couple of years after Robert Henke rejoined in an active role.
Another slightly older interview to pass the time - some fun stuff about user feature requests in here:
Something to plug in to my phone I’m hoping for. Making more music on Note than anything at the min so something that can compliment it and maybe plug other small bits into would be ideal
There will be a few choice four letter words flying around if Move turns out to be a flop. The hype will be unbearable come Oct 8 and anything short of an amazing new piece of hardware will seem like a massive let down.
I hope it is not a gyroscopic midi controller. If they release something that replaces the akai apc 40 mkii that is discontinued it would be amazing though
I wish they, meaning Ableton, would do something like an apc40 mkIII. I also hope they do a small portable m8/circuit type device (which I’m guessing Move is).
Funny how in three iterations of Push they’ve never really acknowledged the crossfader, which we had on the apc series. I guess no one at Ableton HQ really digs it? Personally, I love it for quick morphing between tracks, and sound design variations, during a “performance”.
If you don’t think a crossfader can be utilized for some really cool things, I’d like to introduce you to a little known obscure device call Octotracks, or Octotrackz, or something. Can’t remember. Ableton should google it.
