That’s a sketch from April Fools on the Ableton forums.

Move is a carry on bag for the Push3 exclusively for Business Class seating on Singapore Airlines.

Move is the Ableton version of the TE Field Desk. It has wheels, so you can Move your gear, and a black rubber coating to ensure nothing will slip off.

what if it’s Note standalone? Something like this:

I’d love that, because I wouldn’t ā€œhave toā€ buy one then.

Small Push 3, or nothing for me

A short video for the Move just popped up with the guy from the website arriving on his bicycle at the scene to hang the posters. The music sounds terrible, so yes - it’s going to be the portable Note device

I could definitely see them spending all that money and years of development on the Push 3, with promises of a longterm upgrade path, and then immediately undercutting those sales with a mini version.

Solid business plan, I would give my sales team raises for such good ideas. I’m still writing daily hate emails to Roland demanding they put all of the Sp404 features in their new, cheaper P6 so I can sell my SP and make some monies back.

I’ll start my email campaign with Ableton once Roland does what I want.

Yes that’s what it js

You can expand push with a fader controller called Move

I dunno about the Note stuff. They are really pushing this as ā€˜something new’.
Would be a bit of a downer for me personally if it’s ā€˜just’ a midi controller for an app.

I’m guessing a physical instrument that is best suited as an idea starter away from your computer. It feels like the Push 3 was designed with that goal in mind as well but doesn’t really achieve that due to it’s massive size.

Maybe something that literally invites you to move around. Catch sounds, use a few limited versions of Ableton stock plugins to shape an idea and that integrates seamlessly with live and push.

That sounds like a portable Note device.

Note cannot be used on Android, so Move can be seen as a way to use Note without having to spend 2-3x more on f**ing iPhone.

And people with iPhone will also buy it, because clearly they’re flush with $$$

With that new video they’ve just released, I’m thinking its a standalone battery powered mini Push.
Like a hardware version of Note; but I’d imagine less limited than Note, so somewhere between Note and Live Standard in its capabilities.

4x4 pads to rep Drum Rack too, instead of 8x8.

If it’s basically a Circuit Pro, I’m all in. But I fear it’ll just be a huge disappointment.

This is sarcasm, right? They still support the first Push and added valuable features from Push 3 to Push 2. I know, Push 2 could become gooey and the internet still isn“t over it but Jesus, cut them some slack!

I am really curious about this. I think there are lots of interesting things happening with Ableton at the moment.

Push 3 SA is not perfect but still the best all in one performance instrument imo.

Very curious to see what this is. A portable groovebox of some kind would be fantastic so I’m hoping for that though I’m not convinced it is.

Could be something completely different. The vibe of the campaign gives me the impression that it’s intended to have broad appeal.
