Ableton Live looping with Octatrack

Hey!

I recently got my Octatrack and I was wondering if anyone uses Ableton Live to loop other instruments (guitar, etc) in sync with the Octatrack?

I know I can use pickup machines, but I would like to try it on Ableton. I already have an audio interface that has MIDI IN/OUT (Focusrite Scarlett 2i4) so maybe I can sync the Octatrack with Ableton? Does anyone do this? Is there any tempo drift, or sync issues?
Maybe I could also buy the Boss Rc5 loop pedal which has MIDI tempo sync, but I can’t spend that money right now…

thanks for all the replies only just seen them, as thread subscription email alerts aren’t working for me the pigtronix sounds like it might be a goer. also the ehx 2880/45000. the ehx might have the edge as it has faders to play with dry/loop levels. do any of the pigtronix knobs (or midi controllable params) do a simple source/loop wet/dry mix? that and solid midi sync are my 2 main requirements…

Octatrack and Ableton Live

Hi Im quite new to the octatrack and was wondering how you guys are using it with Ableton Live? I want to make a template that would (a group of channels) that would give me the best interconnection between the octatrack and ableton live. Any tips? Cheers

OT sync Ableton via Interface?

Hey, just a quick question: Do you know if it is possible to sync via an interface? I own the Steinberg UR44 and it has MIDI IN + OUT on the back. So I asked myself if I can use these instead of buying a Kenton MIDI to USB device. If yes, do I just have to connect MIDI OUT from OT to MIDI IN on the interface to sync Ableton? Best way to use OT and Live

I searched for this but nothing really answers my basic question. What, have you found, is the best way to use Ableton Live alongside the OT? I tried syncing both ways today and maybe I’m doing something wrong but, Live will not communicate with the OT very nicely. I want to be able to sample from Live and run the OT through Live and have them in perfect sync. Basically I want to be able to add guitars, bass, or anything else and have a choice whether I want to slice up and mangle samples or add…

Octa & ableton

Hi Guys! Sorry for the noob question. Is that normal my ableton cant see my octa? Is there any driver? I just want to sync the tempo on usb. Is that possible?
