A4 x 2 Transpose func question

Hello everyone!

I’m going to buy the second A4 but before this I want to know is it possible to use transpose function on both units simultaneously? E.g. I have 2 units connected via midi and when I change base note on the first unit using Transpose+note on integrated keyboard I want the second unit to automatically change the base note too. Does it work?

i doubt it, there’s no chaining of A4 > A4 or AK !

Never tried, nor read about that, I’d be (pleasantly) surprised if it did ! Pretty awkward without a remote transpose button or command tho

i’m not sure you can achieve the first thing you asked for but transposing via an external midi keyboard is not a problem. if you mean ‘transposing like you do on the minikeyboard’ then i doubt you can do that, the connected midi keyboard will only play the notes transposed but won’t actually change the transpose on the A4 (if that’s what you’re looking for and if i understood properly what you meant), not sure if that’s doable via sysex though

He asked for using the transpose feature with an external keyboard. No I think it’s not implemented, I tried that out a couple of days ago using both performance and auto channels. Maybe more luck on the individual track channels, but I doubt it.

I like to use transpose function on A4 during live sessions. It helps to avoid creation of additional patterns only with different key note. The main idea was to connect two units via midi and control pitch of both devices from only one unit. But according to your replies it seems like impossible thing and stops me of buying additional A4. Unfortunately. Will write to Elektron about implementation of this feature.
