A4 weird behavior with DAW (Ableton)

Hi Guys,

My A4 is in great shape and honestly…is a hell of a synthesizer.

When working with Ableton everything runs smooths except one small tiny little detail.

Whenever I move the MASTER fader on the DAW my A4 (Track 1) starts doing a kind of “sidechain” effect on that sound. The other 3 remaining A4 tracks still play flawlessly.

To undo this effect I simply load the same sound on A4 (track 1) and voilá…gets back to normal.

It’s a bit annoying to keep loading the sound back again whenever I move the master fader.

Does anyone had this issue?
Any fix for this?

Thank you

Are you using a control surface alongside live ? It could be due to a midi message sent by live.
You could try disabling some midi ports out.
Just a guess

No control surface is being used.

I’ve tried it with my RME soundcard. With NI A8 and with a Focusrite Sapphire…always does the same behavior.

I’ve actually disconnected everything and kept only the A4 connected…and the behavior is the same.

I really don’t understand whats going on.

Probably have to check if I added some midi mappings by mistake in the master…but I doubt it.

Really annoying

a few tests :

  • disable every midi outs in your prefs except the one driving the A4
  • route your audio to an ext out
  • disable cc in your a4

I had a similar issue when slaving the A4 to my OT.

I think you must disable CC receive on the A4 and eveything will be fine.
I don’t know why!!!

Thanks I’ll give it a look.

I had a similar problem slaving my A4 to OT, even though nothing was assigned to the crossfader, I’d get a slight pitch shift when moving it.

Disabling CC helps
