voice allocation is clever though,
example: if you place a trig with 3 notes on the same step of tracks 1-3, a total of 9 voices would be needed… the voice allocator spreads the available voices out to all tracks in a fair manner, so that each of the trigs has its root note played (3 voices are used up), and then track 1 gets the remaining voice for its 2nd note.
