I’m not typically a fan of children in general, but this is truly amazing. Very inspirational and a testament to what can be accomplished with these machines, even without a proper manual or pro-tutorial videos.

I often can’t comprehend why some people find elektrons difficult. At least now I can say that even a 7 year old has no problems with it

It´s great to hear the thoughts of your son, and how he sees the unit in his view. Does he learn playing any instrument? He sees to have a good ear for hearing when the arrangement isn´t correct.

Your kids are talented, man! I loved that christmas tune they covered as well - you’ve got every reason to be proud! Hopefully (most probably) they’ll stay interested in making and enjoying music.

So true. Just follow the kid’s instructions. “Hit the red button here and you can push these buttons to make a rhythm […] Use these buttons to change the sounds.”

Yes, it’s really cool to see how the kids handle these things - and how important they think it is with physical controls. I have been showing them iPad apps such as DM1 and there is almost no reaction - but when it comes to the hardware it’s all different.
They are not learning to play any instrument “officially”, but since we have a lot of different instruments at home it is easy to pick one up and just start to hammer on them I don’t push them at all, so they can try whatever they want in their own speed. But if they want to learn, I gladly show them. We have a Guitar Hero-drumkit which I have MIDI-connected to MainStage and that is used from time to time by him. The piano is also used every now and then. I’ll just wait and see what they do

Hehe, “playing football” I’m afraid But soon it’s dark winter time again, and then we’ll see what happens! He has started to use the Octatrack, actually, so there is hope
