Sorry, i’m a newbie, noticed some strange thing with LEDs: when the A4 is in test mode (while powering the A4 hold “Function” button, then press “1”, wait for test mode to complete and press “3”) - LED color of “Perf” and “Arp” isn’t yellow like others in the same line (for e.x. “OSC1” or “OSC2” - yellow) but the red. It seems like the “Perf” and “Arp” LEDs are not three color LEDs like the rest in this line. Have you got the same behavior ?
But…did you run TEST mode because you got some unexpected behavior from the unit?
Everytime I ran TEST mode on different Elektrons I was with a feel of unexpected, but all turned to be just fine only because LEDs&Co. show something that only HQ knows.
If you are experiencing weird behavior from the unit, contact the Support opening a ticket.
I’ll try mine and double-check with you
Yeah, this is probably pretty illustrative of the reasons why diagnostic modes are often hidden – the regular user doesn’t really know how they work, as they’re not documented well enough, and often result in confusion or even calls for (unnecessary) warranty repairs.
It must be pretty difficult being a hardware manufacturer these days, as people are so well informed. That’s not a bad thing, though
I run the TEST mode, because my previous unit was faulty, and i have sent it back, so i’ve received a new one and decided to test it before using. The test menu is documented on the official site and is NOT really hidden or smth. Could you please check the LEDs on your unit and inform
The testing diagnostic is not hidden and has been documented on the official site, it is used to test all the hardware of the unit Could you please check the LEDs on your unit and inform on your behavior
Perf and Arp are red on all Analog Fours, as intended.

Yeah, I know… My previous text was like a very long way of saying “don’t worry” Sorry, I know it must not have been too helpful!
Glad miketheman stepped in!
Thanks for encouraging The reason i was worrying - is the first experience with A4 unit, when it had some mechanically wobbly rotary faders and the overall feeling of the refurbished product (rumpled manual and etc). So the first experience wasn’t positive
I have exchanged it. Now i’ve got totally a perfect unit, even the sound differs
no doubt. When all the people around different forums complained on relatively low volume of the A4, mine (the returned one) was the opposite, and now i’ve figured out comparing of the received one - with a bit distorted sound (not the issue of the input gain on USB sound adapter). So, now the sound is totally pleasant, no distortions, and i cannot really stop to believe it haven’t got any issues :irony: that’s because i’m continuing to find ones
Superb synth!
Thanks for the info , now i’m calm everything is ok.
