A4 Supersaw?

what’s the other only synth which can do this? ;)[/quote]
The Analog Keys ? :+1:
There’s a couple of eurorack modules out there designed for Super Saw but I think even those are digital / wavetable type stuff

Although I’m pretty sure your just pointing out my usage of the word only when I should of said a few, I’ll answer the question seriously since it is a short list. The Alesis Andromeda and some of the Dave Smith synths have a unison mode that should be able to create supersaws. The Arturia Minibrute and Microbrute have a Ultrasaw that creates 3 saw waves from one Oscillator. So it’s close, and the raw fatness of the Microbrutes Oscillators probably make up for the less voices, but it’s still not as many as people would traditionally associate with a supersaw (7+ waveforms). As far as modulars gos, there is the Super Sawter which is a analog signal processing module. It adds harmonics to the initial Oscillator waveform to create a supersaw.

Hey x0x, any chance of a quick clip of your patch on sound cloud? I won’t have access to my A4 in a while and am really curious how your patch came out!

Yes sure, will do one tomorrow for you

I’ll resurrect this thread with a tip I enjoy using. All the aforementioned tips about unison and detune and PWM on strings and such still come into play when finding that sweete spot, but I like to put an LFO in the 2k range and set the destination to oscillator 2 with a depth of 1-3. Different wave shapes will behave differently, but I really like the random wave just gently rocking the pitch around at audio speeds.

Can you please write the exact name of this module…i cant find it out. thx

@Lymtronics

thanks for you tip =)

You can combine a “few” and get a big analog supersaw :joy:

Here’s an analog one:
http://www.doepfer.de/a1372.htm

Also the Mini- and Microbrute have some similar circuitry.

Can someone please post the syex for this the original link is dead.

can you share?

Sharing mine, just a couple of quick trials:

SupersawUnison01.syx (2.6 KB)

SupersawUnison02.syx (2.6 KB)

Keep in mind that these are KITS not single patch.
Both use Unison+Use Trk Sounds to obtain what I was looking for.
Also there are some Perf Macros. Similar in both except that 02 has MIX and DETUNE instead of FiltEnvSustain and AmpEnvRelease.
This MIX and DETUNE was my attempt to emulate Roland JP8000 OSC1 parameters for SuperSaw…I wasn’t looking for fidelity though…I own a JP8000 if I need that sound :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This is the x0x’s patch I’ve downloaded at that time and I still have

The Supersaw is one of my favorite sounds. I bought a virus and a JP8K just for that sound. On the A4 you can get close. Here is a few of saws it can do.

Here is a sound I made that you can have and tweak:

I’m trying to understand why every voice (track) sounds different in the xOx’s patch…

Should not it always sound the same regardless of which track you choose?

I think I’m a little lost

Do not remember how that patch (kit?) was programmed.
I believe, though, if you hear different sounds for each track is because the attempt to emulate a thick sound using “similar” oscillators like in a supersaw patch

Thanks for your answer

I don’t know which track should I select to get the good and fat sound and I don’t understand why the A4 sounds different for every track in Unison Mode if it’s a way to make it monophonic.

Sorry I don’t have an A4 anymore so can’t help

I believe in Unisson mode the sound of the active track is used on the four voices (or less if the Poly setting is spread on less voices).
I have to check this, but I think that while on Unisson mode you can have different Sounds on each of the tracks gathered in Poly mode.

I’ve loaded that .syx.

It’s definetely a kit.
Only Trk1 is programmed to perform the supersaw taking advantage of unison mode.

The other three are just the default sound being played in unison

Ok, thanks for all!!
