Hey All,
I must’ve missed a step. I have A4 mk 1. I’m on 0S.140.
The tracks are set to output MIDI ch 1-6 respectively.
Each track is set to Send MIDI out ‘Y’ on the NOTES page
MIDI OUT port is selected to MIDI.
I can only play external gear from the mini keyboard, but the sequencer will not send out MIDI notes? I want to send midi to YARNS so I can control my modular synth
any idea what I must’ve missed???
if all settings are correct and there are a few to check in terms of Port / USB & Midi etc etc then it will work if you have the Midi Out enabled per track - however, and it’s to my significant annoyance, you cannot use an external keyboard to play the external gear in realtime, it’ll only work once the recording plays back (this is with auto channel)
the point is - check every settings menu and know that it should work - try with other external gear or a midi monitor on a computer
Have you muted the tracks(s) on the Analog Four?
I can only play EXT gear if the sequencer is stopped. All is set up as been suggested thus far
track muting seems to have no effect. on or off I still have this issue. only notes played on mini keyboard are being sent to external gear. not recorded sequenced stuff
Make sure you aren’t sending out the MIDI Thru port. It only sequences from the Out.

No trig mutes? Try to switch the A4 off and on again. Once in a blue moon Elektrons suddenly act weird, usually switching the machine off and on again solves the issue.
If you changed any midi settings, double-check the note page to make sure midi out is enabled. It seems to revert back each time a setting is changed. Also check to make sure Song mode isn’t enabled. I was trying to troubleshoot and didn’t realize I was in Song mode and my sequencer was acting a little strange.
all the sudden it works. I’ve changed nothing.
