Probably being stooooopid, and if there’s a thread already about this, then pls can someone direct me to it.
I’m starting to work on a live set with the A4 and a MD UW+. I’ve had the MD for years and it’s really simple - each pattern bank has a kit saved/attached to it. When i change to pattern B, the kit changes etc etc.
On the A4, it’s really confusing.
Say I’ve got Bank A patterns/4 sounds/kit where i want them so I go to bank B and start making another /patterns/kit/sounds from scratch, when I go back to A, the sounds aren’t there and they’re playing the new sounds i’ve been putting together for bank B…am I spectacularly missing something here?
Basically, how do I save a kit for each pattern bank? So when I switch between bank A through to H, the respective kits load up automatically with each bank?
I know you can have kits allocated to each pattern, not just pattern banks on the A4 and I am Reading TFM but it’s just not clicking yet.
Kits are attached to patterns in the A4 not banks. You should save your kit or kits for your first set of patterns then go to your next pattern/bank and save a new kit for those as well.
Thanks for the reply!! Ok…that makes sense. So every pattern has a kit attached to it.
I just don’t ‘get’ how the kits/sounds are attached/stored with the patterns.
When I changed from A to bank B, I created a new kit, initialised the sounds, changed them, saved it as a new kit etc - then went back to bank A pattern 1, and the sounds were the from the new kit I’d just made on bank B, pattern 1.
If the kit is stored with the patterns, then surely when I changed back to A, pattern 1, all the sounds/kit attached to A, pattern 1, should be recalled no?
Sorry for being a div!!!
Yes and yes…
Thanks for your help bro. Back to the manual, I guess. I’m sure it will click eventually. I think the Machinedrum ideology is confusing me. It looks like the A4 is entirely different saving/storage process…
