I would like to run my Tempest outputs into the A4 inputs. However, when I do this the A4 is not passing the signal through as I cannot hear the Tempest. Is there a feature I need to turn on in order for this to work?
Thanks
Joe

On the FX Track under OSC or something you have to turn up the ExtIn Levels.
press FX channel under track 4
press osc1
turn E an J knob all the way (maybe adjust pan levels) look at display.
dont forget to have external source playing and cables connected to input of A4
and speakers ON
and main volume on A4 up
good luck bro
Do the external inputs have to be routed via the OSC1/OSC2 on a synth track, or can you send them straight through the effects to the master (assuming you don’t want to use the filter etc.?)
Thanks
straight to master with effects send if you like ️
Cool thanks
Hey all,
I hit a small snag with my A4 and I looked in the manual and didn’t find what I was looking for,
So I have my A4MK2 sequencing my Moog Voyager OS through CV and everything is working great, however I can’t seem to figure out how to feed the output of the Moog back into the A4 to make use of the onboard effects.
Anyone who can offer guidance on this would be awesome, I remember I was able to do it successfully once on my MKI but it was so long ago I just can’t remember.
Appreciate it!
Outputs from Moog to inputs of A4, change the A4 oscillator waveform to input L or R.
On Fx track Ext In (Osc 1) has the Fx parameters.
What means hit a snag? Sorry me not native english…
Never mind. Found it
To encounter an issue, drawback, or challenge. Our plans for a relaxing night at home hit a snag when a pipe burst in the basement.
Having trouble with.
Thank you
Trying it right now thanks a bunch!
If i may add, adjust the Input Level. Some gear comes in extremely hot. Or the other way round.
You can also Route one of the A4 single Outputs into the Voyager Input and utilize the Voyager as Filterbox, or simply to have a Moog Filter on one A4 Track, and even CV Sequence the Moog Filter.
Or use the Moog LFO on the A4 Control Input and add that as another Mod source within your A4…uuuh so many possibilities…
The A4 manual has some great patch examples and suggestions.
Using EXT IN as oscillator waveforms is only necessary if you want to use ALL internal processing on the external signal(s), but this way you will loose 1-2 tracks.
If you only want to use the effects on the external signal you can utilize the FX track for this (first parameter page).
So if I was to say, run my moog in stereo through the A4 I would have to give up two of the A4 tracks and in mono one of the A4 tracks?
There is no way to process the way I am thinking (having it also sequenced) without giving up tracks, or have I missed it completely?
Cheers!
Cheers thanks, I just cracked open the manual again and I am re-reading just to fully absorb and make sure I just didnt miss it completely
No, If you do it Like tnussb described, you can use only the FX Track, and there use one or two Channels. No need to give Up any other Track. But If you want, you could, and Open more possibilities of Sound mangling.
Try a search on YT, there are at least half a dozen Tutorials for this topic, that explain it better than i could with me poor english.
Yeah theres a very simple tutorial near the end of the manual dealing with this showing how to connect in that case an AR to A4’s inputs. Basically all you have to do is go to the FX track and turn up the volume for the left and right channel inputs. The FX sends for each input are there also
