I am a bit new to sound synthesis and was wondering if anyone knows how to create a bell sound on the A4. Not a cowbell type sound, but a regular bell sound.

Or if you know an approach to create a bell sound on any synth in general, that would also be helpful.

Thanks.

You could use the triangle with the PWM sweeped by an envelope or one-shot LFO to get a bell sound. Add a bit of AM or sync (metal!) for non-harmonic overtones. You might also want to add a bit of noise with a quick decay.

HP2 on filter 2 with lots of resonance and a sharp, fairly deep envelope can get you there, too.

Good one. There are a lot of ways to approach the same thing on the A4.

Ok cool thanks, I will try these out. Btw, how do you do a one-shot lfo?

Ok, I see in the manual under LFO MOD:ONE

Yeah, you really want to read the manual a few times back-to-back while you’re learning about the machine.
