Hi,
I am working on a track that I would like to play in a live Set I am working on.
My setup for the live set will be the Analog Four, Korg EMX-1 and a Alessis Mixer. The bass line of a track I made would need some compression.The Analog Four doesn’t have Single outputs so if I would buy an external compressor the sound of all 4 Tracks would be compressed together.
Do you know a way to use Compression on the A4?

In order to get two independent outputs, try panning your bass sound hard left and then pan all of the other tracks hard right. Now you have a separate bass output for processing.

I still hope Elektron can add a compression with the next update. I heard that Octatrack has compression as well.

For what purpose would you like compression? If it is to even out volume on filter sweeps, you could use a macro that increases volume when the filter is closing. For beefing up the sound a little, you could run the main output to something like a fmr rnc, a cheap but nice compressor with stereo inputs. It gels the sounds together really nice.

The sub bass I made has a conflict with the Kick drum from the Korg EMX. You can’t really hear the Kick Drum anymore and it doesn’t have punch anymore. I think with a bit compression on the Bass line it should sound better. I heard about that compressor. My friend recommended it to me. I might get one.
Do you have any other idea how I could solve the problem?

if you want to make the bassline duck the kickdrum, and everything is sequenced anyway, you could simulate sidechain compression by e.g. using ENV2 with trigless trigs to lower the AMP VOL of the bassline on each bassdrum hit.

^ what void said, but with trigged trigs (surely) ! Env2 is so handy for utility purposes
[edit] ahh - trigless trigs do trig envs - getting muddled with mutes and all the other subtleties, my bad
