A4 complete backup via C6

I’m trying to backup my A4 (projects, sounds, kits, patterns, everything). I’ve gone into sysex dump and then selected “all” and then “whole project”.

I’m not clear on the next steps with C6 though. Should I hit the “receive” button or the “save” button, and do I hit that button before I press “yes/save” on the A4 or after?

I’ve tried it both ways but it’s hard to confirm whether or not the save has been successful.

Any info would be appreciated. I have searched the forum on the topic BTW.

Press config in C6 make sure you’re connected to the A4 (you may need to disable overbridge mode I can’t remember). Then press receive in C6. Then send from the A4, once you receive all the files then you can save.

Thx - I’ll give that a try later today.

Oh my goodness.
I read and thought about a project backup and restore 143 times in 52 threads, manuals and variations.
I still dont get one thing clear also reading the below guide 5 times.
I now saved all sound banks as seperate files and some whole projects as files.

If i would want to restore a project on a factory resetted a4machine( after repair or the new update goes wrong),
is it necessary that i also restore all soundbanks with all sounds, everything to the same bank slots, numbers in the +drive?

(Mostly i didnt save sounds to soundpool, I know soundpool would be restored with the project.)

In other words, when I hit save pattern, save and name kit, I save and name the project:
Are then the sounds on the 4 tracks I created from scratch, AND/OR sounds I took and modulated from a soundpack AND/OR plocked sounds on trigs saved within the kit, pattern (trigs, plocks…) inside the project?

The + drive banks and sounds only necessary when I want to access to the sounds saved there?

I hope and assume so, sorry and thanks.
