Hello,
I am now proud owner of an A4 mkII and AR mkI.
How can I permanently switch on the ARP for the A4?
Following
The arp settings are made per track in the A4 and are saved with the pattern. So if you save a pattern with the arp on, it will be on, the next time you load it and vice versa
The first thing you want to do if you’re making techno music is decide which finger you’re going to use to play it.
your explanation hasn’t helped me yet. is there a more detailed step by step explanation somewhere how i can permanently start the arp to change the arp on a live set?
A track or tracks on each pattern you want to load will need to have been pre-saved with the Arp turned on - this will necessitate a non-empty pattern and the kit will be bound to the pattern - but arpeggiator settings are a track level parameter, so you simply need to save a pattern with the arp enabled and load that pattern which will in turn load a kit - best just experiment to see what works ( a pattern could be saved with a bogus parameter lock that doesn’t do anything, e.g. make step 1 a parameter lock (Fn+Trig in step mode, dim led) set Not Fill Trig Condition or whatever)
Now the pattern can be saved and a kit can be linked, so loading the pattern will allow you to play ARP from the off with the track
@shazy what avantronica wrote is right. also you should invest time to study the concept of kits, patterns projects and so on. These are simmilar on rytm and a4 and it will be necessary to understand those to know where settings/features are saved. This will be very rewarding in the future, because the two units work like a charme in tandem!
So for the arp example: there is no global on/off switch on the a4.
You can (and have to) activate or deactivate the arp for each of the 4 tracks of the a4 per pattern.
further possibilities: So if you change a pattern on the rytm, the a4 will follow that via midi automatically and if you have set the arp on for a specific track on the a4 (in advance), the a4 is waiting for your playing with arp on
edit: read the manual
