A4/AK not receiving clock and transport over USB

I have Fl Studio sending midi out to my A4 and AK.

The config:
clock receive: checked
transport receive: checked

input from: tried usb and usb+midi

When a usb cable is plugged in, I can sequence the A4/AK from Fl Studio, but A4 and AK do not recognize the clock or receive transport commands like start/stop.

However when I plug a midi cable into A4 and AK, they receive clock and transport.

What am I doing wrong here?

Ive found similar but not looked into it since I use ableton more than fl for hw stuff (not fls forte really). So yeah, can confirm your issue but cant help with a solution as yet.

Thanks for trying this out, glad to hear I’m not the only one.

It may be that with overbridge it may be completely moot, would imagine ob would do the timecode/transport itself - is the reason I didnt troubleshoot it (that and the fl 12 is out soonish so will wait for that).

a guess for the reason: the usb and din port on the Elektron boxes don’t ‘share’ MIDI - so feeding the first box won’t supply the other via the typical thru route !

if you can try a midi interface on computer and DIN cable the lot up, see if that solves it, otherwise it may be a settings issue somewhere else

The set up is pretty simple, Fl Studio (sync turned on for transport and clock), midi out plugin sequencing a few notes.

And USB out to Analog Four or Analog Keys, only one at a time to test (no chaining or midi thru), and seeing same result on A4 and AK -> no clock and no transport.

I’m going to try and do Fl Studio -> USB -> Korg SQ1 -> midi -> A4, and see if that’s even possible, cos I don’t have a usb to midi convertor.

Trying to figure out if it’s a problem with FL or A4/AK
