A question for all you modular heads,

Could my A4 drive this with CV?

http://www.kilpatrickaudio.com/?p=phenol

I really have no idea when it comes to CV type stuff, and have never considered modular before,

but this seems really cool, and I think could compliment the A4 pretty well. What do you think?

(also, isn’t a “banana plug” some kind of sex toy?)

yes, easily, you’d just need to get some banana plug breakout thing and sort earth out, but i can’t see this being a hurdle at all, there’ll be gear already which works this way that you can get user experience from (i’m assuming banana plugs are not shielded btw!)

Maybe for a strawberry :slight_smile::thinking:

You can get banana plugs from most electronics stores or hobby shops. They aren’t shielded.

Thanks for the replies, looks pretty good to me, and only about 500 euro on the Kickstarter thingy. Do you think it offers enough soundwise to add to the A4?

Nice machine. I like the thinner sound. It reminds me of the Korg MS2000 but obviously more analog. I think it would complement the deep thick sound of the A4 nicely.

Must admit, I am really tempted…but I’m also tempted by the Monomachine…21st century problems!!!

Hooking a a proper VCO could be a lot of fun, something along the lines of a Dark Energy or a microbrute would give you cv control fun, both different and many more like these, arturia is incredible value and very flexible, both modular lite but suited to A4 fwiw

I think I’m gonna wait and see if NAMM brings anything interesting.
My problem is that there are a few things I’m interested in, but nothing that stands out and screams “BUY ME”

This screamed at me.

Just got notification, I am at 109 on the waiting list.
Not a sound source but could be a brain for that shiny new modular system.

This is high on my list too.

I hosted the Toronto Synth Meet last weekend. Andrew brought Phenol there – it’s a monster! It sounds SO good! It’s really beautiful too.

Yeah, I’m on the list for rhythm lab as well, not sure what to expect , but it look like fun…all depends on the price.
Looking at the Kilpatrick, the way things are, i’ll only save about 50 euro going for the Kickstarter, so I think i’ll wait for the public release.
Overall I’m pretty happy with my setup (Virus ti2 ,A4, TB3, BSII, Ableton) I just feel like I need a new toy, but nothing really grabs me. Perhaps I should be mature and sensible, wait for something to scream at me…but that’s no fun!
