A question about xfader transition trick and freeze delay

Hi guys. I’m not sure how well I can explain this but I’ll give it a go. I want to use the xfader transition trick and I also want to use the xfader for the freeze delay effect. However, it’s not as simple as just using different scenes for each, because to use the xfader for anything other than freeze delay means having to turn the delay lock off, which causes an unwanted delay effect. Does anyone know a way around this or is it a built-in limitation?

Thanks for the reply Baddcr, I’ll see if I can figure it out using parts.
I’m also feeding the A4 and AR into the OT as thru machines so I don’t think the second solution would work for me.
